President Kgalema Motlanthe announced today that the fourth democratic general election in South Africa will take place on 22 April this year. There had been suggestion that the general election might be delayed for weeks by a series of court cases on the voting rights of expatriates. Yesterday’s Pretoria High Court ruling, which effectively enfranchised all citizens living outside the country, and a pending court application was thought to possibly delay the announcement of the election date. But the president has spoken and the day is April 22.
Im hurt because i will not be able to cast my vote on this date.i went and register but we were never given barcode and i really don’t why. Those people that were responsible for registration were careless they were just rushing to close. Is there anything that i can do,so that these people can be held responsible for robing us our right to vote.
how do one know if your registered or not…… its sooo long ago that i cant even remember this and also, my id that had the barcode sticker in is list…. do we need this sticker again to vote
