Well I’m sure you have heard, read or talked about what happened at the University of the Free State. If you where on the Moon or Mars or outside the country, well this is what happened. Four White University of Free State students urinated on some food and gave it to Black workers and then video taped the Black workers eating the food. WOW!!!! Yes, a state of shock is an acceptable reaction or is it? South Africa is a place in which race is the most defining part of our identity as a people. So when there are overt acts of racial hatred should we be surprised? I think not, we are shocked because we are always being told that we are a ‘Rainbow Nation’, a melting pot of cultures and race living in harmony. All nonsense! There are still major racial, cultural and class problems in South Africa. But we choose to ignore them for whatever reason, which to be honest I don’t really understand. Who said we should just wake up in March 1994 and forget the past? Who was it? Was it Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela or FW De Klerk? Who ever said it was lying to us; maybe they were ok with putting on veils of tolerance and disguising the past. Well, I’m not and what happened in the Free State is another reason why.
I can’t believe that these four White students would take their trousers or shorts off and urinate on food, give it to Blacks and then video tape it. On top of all that they then blamed it on transformation at the University of Free State, which in part involved integrating student residents. So urinating on food and giving it to Blacks was an act of protest. Wow!!! You have to love this place. I’m sick and tired of us as a nation lying to each other about racial or communal integration. Clearly there are those who feel like we should go back to Bantustans and Apartheid. Clearly there are those who still believe in ‘One Bullet-One Boer’ slogans. Clearly, there are many people on both sides of the racial spectrum who don’t like tolerance or integration. There are those who are tired of the fakeness and would rather just urinate on some food and give it to Blacks to eat.
Have you ever wondered why we love or use the phrase ‘Rainbow Nation’? Are not all the colours on the Rainbow separated? They are not mixed together, they just found themselves together? Who said the colour red does not like the colour yellow? I think it’s a stupid metaphor but we bought into it without thinking about it. Today the colours in the Rainbow Nation still hate each other and they are at war with each other, you just have to look closely. Rainbows are pies in the sky, on the ground there are those who are urinating in food to give to Blacks to eat.
The new South Africa has some ever growing or still lingering notions of the old South Africa. Blacks and Whites should just stay away from each other because if we get closer to each other, some maybe forced to urinate on food and give it to the other race.

Every time i see clips of this video on the news it hurts me. I hope these boys get punished for what they did.
WHERE IS FREEDOM IN SOUTH AFRICAN FOR BLACK PEOPLE.IF WE CALL IT FREEDOM ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE GOING DIE.
