What we all expected has now been made official, Jake White will not be coaching the Springboks again after his contract expires at the end of the year. White’s last game in charge will be South Africa’s end of year tour to Wales where they will play the Wales National Team and then the following week play the Barbarians. After the success of the Springboks winning the World Cup, it was time to start moving forward but instead, only 11 days later, backward steps are already being taken. Read the rest of this entry »

As the wheels of democracy continue to turn, we are fast approaching an important juncture in our young democracy. The Africa National Congress (ANC) will hopefully decide who will take the reigns of the party and be the presidential candidate in 2008. Many a newspaper have written about this and speculated to no end about the battle for the ANC. South Africa will play England in the final on Saturday in what surely should be a guaranteed win for South Africa but with the way this World Cup has been going one can never be sure what is going to happen. Who would have thought that Argentina would beat France in the first game, Australia would be beaten by England or New Zealand would loose to France? Read the rest of this entry »
